The Invisible Church

There is a misconception, or perhaps a kind of misassumption, that has come to be an albatross clinging to efforts to preach the gospel and to evangelize in our world.

Challenges to: “A Short Course on Revelation” Part 3

You challenged the concept of the tribulation being judgment, referring back to the seals and the plagues of Revelation as if they were some separate entity. You also told me that you spend little to no time reading the old testament, so here is the underlying problem.

I think an attempt at establishing what this time we call the tribulation is, is in order.

Let me tell you about my day.

First off, I am in the middle of three days off, and it was much needed.

I went and caught up with the guys for Monday morning “bible study”. I am putting it quotes because there are more than enough days that I do not feel like it qualifies as a bible study. I arrived there about 07:35.

What are we waiting for?

My former pastor, (he moved on to another church, and I miss him.) informed us, on Facebook, that he was going to start a new blog on the end times. This is a passion for me and so I responded with “bring it on”.

The second blog he put up seemed to indicate that there are two predominant signs that must be seen before Jesus comes to catch us away.

Look at the verse with me.:

It is given unto you to know

1 Thessalonians 5:2-4 NIV (2) for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. (3) While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. (4) But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

Jesus was not God.

What some groups teach about Jesus and the Bible's response
Adapted from Rose Publications, Christianity, Cults & Religions, 7th Edition.

First off; I do not agree with this statement, at all. I will admit difficulty totally understanding the concept, but I comprehend through scripture that He was God, and therefore have confidence in Jesus being God and accept that as fact.
