Son of Hamas Book Review

BOOK REVIEW

TITLE: Son of Hamas

AUTHOR: Mosab Hassan Yousef

If there is one take away from this book written by MHY, it is this perspective seen through his experiences and eyes. Myopia? Perhaps, but until we have walked a mile in his shoes we should be hesitant to make a distinction as to the reality of this statement or not.

KJV Only? I don't think so!

I had an online chat with a KJV-Only guy yesterday, and it actually ended up being quite civil.  I'm assuming most people who read this blog are not KJV-Only folks, and in fact, some may not even know there are people for whom the King James Bible as the only Word of God is a matter of doctrine.  But they're out there, and they're usually quite outspoken.  The guy I chatted with yesterday happens to be from a church in central Illinois that is actually about an hour away from my hometown.

A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven

Revelation 12:1-2 (NIV)

A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.

I just ended chapter eleven of Revelation with my last post, and to be honest I did not feel like I did a very good job of it. For example: If someone asks you a question, stick with the most direct answer. There in my problem lies.

Lightening, voices, and thunder.

Revelation 11:19 ESV Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.

The seventh angel sounded.

Revelation 11:16,17

My previous post has seen the two-witnesses removed from the earth, brought on a great earthquake, and left everyone watching in fear.

Revelation 11:16 ESV And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God,

What does it mean to say Merry Christmas?

My days off are split but I am learning to live with it. I suppose that means no overnight trips into the desert to view the night sky, something I have not seen in over thirty years. But it would be good to have some recovery time for the feet. Oh well. I try to get as many things done in my one as possible, like laundry and early morning bible study. It is about the only day that I have time to sit at the keyboard and input based upon my previous thoughts I have written in my notepad.
