First of all I would like to say HELLO! :) My name is Evangelist Lisa Bermudez and I am new to this site, but just of what I have seen thus far, I LOVE it! Great job everyone! I just joined this group and must say I am very excited about doing so because..well for one thing I am an Evangelist, second is that I do Web Evangelism, so I would like to just share with you what I know from my experience with it and hope that it may encourage any of you who may be wondering "is this really possible?" Yes, it is possible and yes, it does work. For starters we have one of the best Authors-Our Father God! While we do have many that have not even heard of him in some countries and others who will flat out deny him, I have seen that these people who do not have access to the Word of Truth are so thirsty for every word you will pour into their cup! I have my own personal ministry page-Back to the Bible Ministries on Facebook, and I am a site Administrator for Pathways Ministries as well. I know I am probably receiving a couple of frowns being that I chose to put my ministry on Facebook, but I did so with much praye, thought, meditation and knowledge of what I was getting into. Facebook was actually the best site I could think of to try Web Ministry because it is the Social Network giant and people who do not know who God is I can assure you that they know what Facebook is, lol. I have reached people in Iraq, India, China, Vietnam, Iran, Turkey, Canada, British Columbia, Mexico, Guatemaula, and many more. These people are now doing postal correspondance with me, telephone conversations, prayer request, discussion boards studies, email studies, talking to each other about God when many of them before coming to my ministry page did not know who Jesus Christ was and asked me what the cross symbol with the man hanging from it meant (this is how they worded it). I also have people from all 50 states involved so it has grown bigger and faster than my wildest dreams would have imagined! I knew that the Lord sent me there for a reason, but I honestly did not think it to be what it has turned out to be, I admit I had doubts wondering can I really reach people over the internet without that intimate and personal connection you get when you minister to someone face to face? But I am actually spending more time ministering to people as a Web-Evangelist than in my personal ministries to be honest and it is because these people (many of them anyway) are like kids in a candy store with a $100.00 bill and no parental supervision, I literally have to slow them down so that I know they are really receiving the message and understanding it. I have now set times up where I wake up by alarm clock to minister to those in countries that where it's in the middle of the night for me, it is their morning or mid-day hours. I admit as an Evangelist I am kind of like a kid in a candy store too because I am somewhat used to people seeing me and thinking "oh' no there's Evangelist Bermudez, quick let's say we have gotta get to the bank!", lol! So, seeing these people wanting and craving the word of God is so much medicine for my soul, they are not afforded Christian Churches on every street corner, many do not have a Christian Church within 500-1,000 miles of them and some are risking their very lives to listen to and learn about God, whereas here many would risk their life to almost get hit by a car to run away from anyone they see with a Bible in their hand, seriously. But, I would love to assist in any way possible and to help out with getting this group ignited with passion for Web Evangelism because it's true that everything else is going into the technical world including our adversary, he is having a field day via the internet right now so we need to Armor the word of God and bring it to the internet and overthrow the adversary's grip he has on these website's, especially the social networking website's. Again, I am honored to be part of this group and I hope that I can join in with all of you to try and get things going in the direction you guys are seeking with taking the word of God into the Technical era and promote Web Evangelism. I have many wonderful Evangelist, Pastors, Prophets, Bishops, etc.., in my personal network and they all have so much experience with this and would gladly help me to help anyone else that is wanting to share the word of God! God Bless you! **I also want to add that I have found working with so many people from all different backgrounds and countries, that when I post any scriptures or messages I add a biblical photo that brings them a visual to what they are reading and I have gotten so many positive reviews from that, they say it helps them to understand what they are reading a lot better because newcomers to the word of God can feel overwhelmed trying to read and understand it-and especially those who may not have ever even heard of Jesus Christ, Moses-Noah's Ark, etc..so I wanted to throw that up as an idea some of you may find as a useful tool because it's an invaluable tool for me and my ministry on the internet and reaching out to so many people from all different countries. If they don't understand what is written very well, they all can understand a picture-as they say a picture is worth a thousand words sometimes, lol!

Eager to learn what you are doing

Lisa, I read your bio and am very impressed that you have taken such a disastrous beginning and have turned your life into one of living for the Lord!

I've been a local Church Pastor as well as a missionary in the Middle East for a long time, but I, too, am eager to reach out to people caught in countries where there is little or no hope of hearing the Gospel without an outreach such as this.

Rather than reinventing the wheel, I will get on Pathway--hope I can locate it--to glean more info.  I have to tell you I HATE facebook as I have known it.  The use you're putting it to will change my mind, though.  So, I am hoping that you can lay down the basics of what is working for you.

Look forward to seeing your future posts.

We preach Christ and Him crucified!

Blessings in the Name of the Lord

Eager to tell you all about what I am doing, and it really works

Hello! I hope you are having a beautifully blessed day! I am outside of the fact my back is acting up a little, but this to shall pass as they say hu? Ok, about Facebook. I admit if you are a mature adult who doesn't get into gossip, drama, and seeing all the works of our adversary then Facebook can be a sore spot for you. But, we must look at what the Lord teaches us to do-He teaches us to evangelize to all people, especially the lost. He teaches us in Matthew 28:16-20 about the Great Commision, the narrative teaches us about "our" mission because Jesus' future reign(28:18) has begun in the lives of His followers in the present age(v.20), His people should exemplify His reign on earth as it is in heaven, as people of the Kingdom, people of the future era. Most signifigant in this passage, because Jesus has all authority, because he is king in the kingdom of God, Disciples must carry on the mission of teaching the kingdom(10:7). Jesus' instructions include an imperative (a command) surrounded by 3 participal clauses: one should make disciples for Jesus by going, baptizing and teaching. Making disciples involves more than getting people to an alter; it involves training them as thoroughly as Jewish teachers instructed their own students. True, most  of modern Christandom fall short on this count. But the instructions of what we need to do are still clear and relevant today. So, as you mentioned earlier about many lost people being unreachable except for on the internet these days, and too that many of these people do not even have a church nearby to go worship or even pick up a Holy Bible! Facebook has in short, become the devil's playground..it was left wide open because many Christians did not "like" it or "hated" it and what it stood for, but unfortunately it has become the largest multi-cultural social network in the world and we as children of God, disciples of the Lord, need to put on our spiritual armor and go to battle on Facebook winning souls for Jesus!  I try to never "hate" anything, I might not agree with the reasoning behind why Facebook was originally created, but the Lord has made it clear to us that we are to reach all the lost, and I look at it as a good thing rather than a bad thing that has happened because this has opened a portal for me to reach the unreachable and bring the "Good News" to them. It is working great and I can not believe how many people I have reached from all over the world, never having to even leave my office! This is an opportunity for me and I am grabbing the bull by the horns so to speak. I am even opening up a regular Web Ministry site off of facebook so maybe I can draw an even larger amount of people that do not use Facebook. I am still building the web site so I haven't got it opened yet, but it is going to be really nice and I think it will do well. I am going to actually have Sunday Ministry and Sunday Bible school on there, and of course Wednesdays too! I am so excited about it! Go check out my personal page on Facebook-Back to the Bible Ministries, and then go look at the site Pathways Ministries where I am an administrator and just tell me your opinion of what you see and the potential and new opportunities you see evolving from this please? Thanks. Now, Back to the Bible Ministries is fairly new so it doesn't have as many members as the other one does yet but it is making lots of progress. Have a blessed day and I hope this helped you out a little bit more.
