The hope is that we can get different teachers who use different literature discussing it and sharing ideas for "next Weeks' lesson so we can more be more effective in our teaching. So lets start If you are using a publishers curriculum state the publisher and the series. If your own just state the Biblical references..

Needs in the SS

In hopes of addressing the needs of today, I have noted three basic areas. If you have more areas that need to be addressed I would like for you to answer this post and add yours. What shall we do to walk through these areas to assist SS teachers today? I am open for ideas here. Please read and post your ideas.

Perceived Needs:
1. Curriculum
2. Planning and Execution of Lessons
3. Training of Teachers
4. Other needs?

Learning how to Study a Passage of Scripture - Sample Matthew

Teaching SS is a big endeavor and takes a lot of time if you do it with excellence. We must be diligent as we are held more accountable than our listeners or students. [James 3:1] I have spent a lot of time honing my skills in this area and still I feel I am "not there". But I thought I would start this week sharing some of the ideas that I have learned from my years behind this desk. This is "not written in stone" but it has helped me immeasurably in my studying to glean the riches from God's mine called His Word. I am going to attempt to share with you what I feel are the steps to developing the lesson as seen from all of my efforts and it is paying off in great dividends.

SPOTLIGHT: Lifeway curriculum for Spring

This week our spotlight is on the Lifeway curriculum. During the months of March and  April they will be highlighting the books of Exodus and Leviticus. Although there are no lessons done on the Teacher's forum for these two books, I have culled several commentaries together for any teacher who will be studying these books. You may enjoy looking at these and bookmarking them for your reference and for the future.

Sunday School Helps/Resources

    Today you may have been one of the recipients of the January Newsletter from bible.org. In it you found a section on Sunday School Teachers helps/resources. This is the place where we will be discussing this venue. In order to be efficient and productive we need to know what curriculums are in use by our readers, what the scripture passages are by week.
