Open to all-Transcription Task
Volunteer Task: Transcription of Audio Sermons and Lessons
Purpose: To transcribe the thousands of audio sermons that have been given to Bible.org into a written language so that both the audio and the written are available to our readers.
Rationale: Bible.org is worldwide but many of our bible.org readers do not have hi-speed Internet access. To download an audio version is therefore not only time consuming, takes a fair amount of memory or ram, and thus is cost prohibitive and/or difficult for them. However, they could easily read a sermon or an article if it was also presented in print. In addition we would be able then to have the written translated into many different languages so it is available across the globe.
The end goal is this: to present both written and audio forms as well as translations of said articles into the trade languages. The first step is taking an audio version, transcribing it into print and then to use one of our translation volunteers to translate it into their language.
Tools needed: Computer word processor, headset is preferable but not necessary, formatting guidelines: http://bible.org/article/formatting-guidelines-articles-submitted-bibleorg
