The Purpose of this group is to post the various Volunteer tasks and support Volunteers.
Every volunteer should be a member of this Group
God has blessed us with many people coming forward and volunteering. If you are interested in volunteering go to Volunteer Opportunities and fill out the volunteer application form which will enter you into the system. When that is complete return here and select a task you would like to help on or you can post ideas that you think would be helpful as a suggested new task.
You were asked to create an account on the forum and to introduce yourself on forum section 7-Bible.org Volunteer tasks and community Discussion We will use this group to discuss tasks and the forum 7 in interact in a more peronal way and to help each other with problems that come up. For example: if you think that translation is your thing, what languages do you know that you could share and what articles do you think would be the best for your people.
We are still experimenting with the best way to assign tasks to our volunteers and collaborate with them. This week (9/13/09) we decided to use this group function for staff and volunteers to better facilitate the interaction and collaboration.

Their are millions of laptops and netbook and notebook computers going into the 3rd world under the program OLPC .

TECH - (not assigned yet) maintaining a tech blog for web based ministries.
There are a lot of web based ministries out there. We would like to see someone start and maintain a blog that would let the web based ministries know about all the latest cool techy things including all the latest items from Bible.org. Possibly even test and review the items and maybe even show a best use practices. Like how to install a daily verse widget or what is the latest script that allows video to play on multi browsers. This would be for someone who loves to write, surf the net for the latest items and test and try them

Hello Everyone,
I hope this is the right place for this. Following the instructions from Dave's email, I joined this group and and attempted to link my facebook account. I noticed the "Facebook Connect" tab in my account profile and, selecting it, it reads, "Your account is not linked with a Facebook account or you are not authorized to edit the Facebook connect settings of this account." How do I link my account? Also, I was not able to find the i.m. funtion that was advertised.

Open task: someone to create a web evangelism group

Open task- I would like all our active volunteers to be "trusted members" on this users site and to form the temporary "review board"
Jenn our users.bible.org admin is looking to put into place the management structure for this user run collaboration site.
She needs immediately
- 3 or 4 people to act as temporary review board members and
- 7 volunteers who will be the primary person to monitor the users site for inappropriate postings.

we need some help on http://users.bible.org to continue to build a strong community platform for Christians worldwide.. We are starting with a strong CMS that allows our users to upload and share articles, blogs, and form groups so they can interact.
i would like to add some more facbook type capability into it..

it has been suggested that offer google translate on our articles pages so people can read it in other languages
some others say we should use it in some automated way and make the site navigation translated into all the google supported languages
