Sunday School Helps/Resources
Today you may have been one of the recipients of the January Newsletter from bible.org. In it you found a section on Sunday School Teachers helps/resources. This is the place where we will be discussing this venue. In order to be efficient and productive we need to know what curriculums are in use by our readers, what the scripture passages are by week. We need a volunteer to man this section so we can add to this each week by curriculum.
Here's an idea to ponder: A spread sheet listing the curriculum, the dates and scripture passages to be considered; and then helps/resources.
For an example: Jan 10th the lesson for Explore the Book for the LifeWay curriculum is on Mark 7 -8. I began here: http://net.bible.org/ and read the passage, looked to see if there were any sermon illustrations to bookmark, looked for any art work that might correlate with this lesson. If I were going to teach this lesson I would by today have done my homework by doing an inductive Bible Study worksheet which we will be discussing in later posts. Then I would have gone to the main bible.org site and looked up any articles that pertained to Mark 7 and 8. I found on the bible.site I found this sermon by Pastor Jeff Miller: http://bible.org/seriespage/follower%E2%80%99s-anatomy-mark-71-8211-826
Also I found this marvelous site which I have used many times: http://www.soniclight.com/constable/notes.htm
David Guzik has this on the book of Mark: http://www.enduringword.com/commentaries/41.htm
Pastor Ron Daniels has an entire site devoted to books with his materials: http://rondaniel.com/library/41-Mark/Mark.html
Another I have used before: http://www.biblestudylessons.com/mark/index.php
This one does not have Mark in its resources but bookmark it for future use as it is great! http://executableoutlines.com/home.htm
What are you using this week to teach this lesson? Let's share!! Come join us for a cup of java and some talk about what you will be doing.
