Welcome to all who have recently joined,
My desire with this group is to encourage ourselves and each other in sharing our faith and in growing in our obedience to the Great Commission. It will be interesting to see how God uses this endeavor as we "go public" with the user site of Bible.org. So, if you have anything pertinent related to our topic that you would like to share, feel free. The only thing that I would request, is that in discussions, and in sharing stories/prayer requests let's try to keep the focus on glorifying our Lord and edifying each other.
To that end, here are two books that have encouraged and challenged me as I have tried to grow in my faithfulness to the great commission:
True Evangelism, by Lewis Sperry Chafer, (less than 100 pages, timeless truths and priciples)
The 7 principles of an Evangelistic Life, by Douglas M. Cecil (slightly over 200 pages, recent, with good practical advice and helps for todays world, as well as timeless principles)

Submitted by broncstampede on Tue, 12/29/2009 - 22:50.I am hopeful that this group will encourage all of us to more obedient to the spreading of the gospel. We are closer today to the return of Christ than we were yesterday, so the time is approaching. I am of the opinion that we are seeing the signs now. Wether Christ returns tonight, tomorrow or 500 years from now, we need to have open eyes for the lost.
I walk by people everyday that need to hear the good news. For whatever reason I pass on by. I pray this group will give us a heart fo rthe lost.
