epub software tools

Several people have expressed an interest to develop an ePub version of the NET Bible. What software tools are there available? I examined Calibre yesterday and tried to do a kindle PRC version to ePub but was unsuccessful. I imagine because the noted NET Bible has too many reference links and footnotes.
Is Calibre the right tool? What is available and what have the group members used?

epub software tools
Submitted by btoddjr on Fri, 01/08/2010 - 09:54.I am doing my edits in TextWrangler for the Mac. It allows me to do on-the-fly regular expression edits to multiple files at once. For compiling the ePub, I use eCub to get started but end up creating the ePub file with a command line zip command. It will create the ePub file from a group of XHTML files. I have finally finished a noteless version of the NET Bible and have a working version with notes about 75% completed. I am using a Sony Reader Touch and have also tested with Adobe Digital Editions, Calibre, and a FireFox ePub plugin. Hopefully I will finish these up soon and turn them over for some more testing.

Notes
Submitted by btoddjr on Fri, 01/08/2010 - 19:37.Yes, I am using hyperlinks between files. The notes end up more like endnotes than footnotes.
ok
Submitted by jonphilpott on Sat, 01/09/2010 - 11:33.ok, cool.. I should probably just wait for you to finish yours, instead of repeating work :) I'd be more than happy to help with testing, etc.
ePub

Try Sigil
Submitted by BenChen on Fri, 05/07/2010 - 14:17.Hi everyone,
I quite like Sigil (http://code.google.com/p/sigil/) - I'm currently using the 0.2.0 RC successfully. However, some editing actions can go glacially slowly. It seems like the program has hung, but if you are patient (and multi-task while you wait) it should come back to life.
I'm definitely interested in a NET with a 2 or even 3 level TOC. I was even considering applying some regular expressions that would convert the current book titles into first level entries, and paragraph titles into third level entries. Then some section entries could become second level ones. Then I'll use the TOC Editor in Sigil to make it all fit together!
book designer 4.x
Submitted by mmcclure on Wed, 01/20/2010 - 11:32.I've also tried several ways to convert The NET Bible (both HTM and PDF) to be viewable on our Sony Reader, and failed miserably. Book Designer came the closest...I think anyway. I still am not familiar enough with the software to know the proper steps in the conversion process?...

Submitted by ronn on Wed, 10/05/2011 - 17:01.Maybe all you need is a new file extension software, you could just check the resource I just shared for further information, I am sure it will be helpful for this kind of conversion. Please let us know how it worked!

This would be great
Submitted by Amy21 on Wed, 02/22/2012 - 17:02.I think it would be fantastic if we could get an ePub version of the NET Bible. Is there any way you could take some of the references out of it so it would be compatible, or not? I know this would probably be a lot of work. However, I am sure the benefits of this in the sunday school classroom would be great. If you need any ideas, I might be able to help out!
The internet is gradually
Submitted by kellywilson on Sun, 02/26/2012 - 06:26.The internet is gradually gaining more importance every day. One of the reasons why people go to the internet is to get information. For this reason, different companies are offering the option for authors to have their books, journals and magazines made available online. ePUB is definitely an option to go for because it offers the latest standard format in the conversion industry. There is no restriction regarding software and hardware compatibility. Programas fidelización|Programas fidelización clientes
ePub Software
Submitted by CyanLake on Tue, 04/24/2012 - 10:33.There are many ePub software available in the market but they do not reach out to tech PR agencies in London, US or AUS to promote their tools. A new invention or development needs to create branding in order to get known to the public. I wish there is a database where we can find all ePub software tools with its corresponding PROS and CONS, & sort of, review from its users.
NET ePub
Submitted by The Digital Wor... on Sun, 06/10/2012 - 20:58.The best way for producing an ePub that would adequately handle a version of the NET would be to hand code it. There are some applications that automate a conversion, but they will use the author's alogrithms in producing an ePub file. If you are interested in having the NET done by a professional, please consider The Digital Word Publishing, LLC. We are a Christian eBook publisher, and would love to talk with you about converting the NET for you. Thanks.
