BerBible is freeware bible study program available at this site.  It is an extremely simple program to download and use.  On the down side, it has a minimal number of features.  This program essentially gives the user the basics.  The starter pack download is quite simple, and consists of a handful of Bible versions.  It is FREE, and only takes a few minutes to download.

  • NET Bible FREE version is part of the starter pack download for BerBible. So as soon as you download the basic software you can begin to read the text of the NET.
  • The starter pack also includes the ESV, KJV, God's Word, NASB and NKJV.
  • Since BerBible is aimed at users with little or no Bible software experience, and/or users who want a completely free study program, there is not a very large selection of Bible versions available.  All the versions available are for free download.
  • BerBible does not have any commentaries or dictionaries.

Easy, if somewhat limited

After playing around with BerBible for about a half hour, I can tell you it doesn't compare to most of the other programs reviewed on this group, as far as having a lot of features.  But I will give it this: it is quite easy to download and use.  And the home page for the software also has a link to a nice little slideshow that gives you a basic tutorial.  If you're a fan of e-Sword or The Word, you won't get much out of BerBible.  But, if you're someone who's never used Bible software before, and just want a quick, easy to use program, this one is worth a try.
