    Ujjain Darshan
Ujjain is considered a sacred city for the Hindus. The Mahakal Temple,
housing one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, is the most famous and
    respected Shiva temple.
The presiding deity of time, Shiva, in all his splendor, reigns
eternally in the city of Ujjain. The temple of Mahakaleshwar, its
shikhar soaring into the sky, an imposing façade against the skyline,
evokes primordial awe and reverence with its majesty.

You are so right! God is good! God saved me when I could not save myself. I was at the end of all my abilities, when God entered my life to save and help me.

I also love going to church to hear other people's testimonies. Doing so is very encouraging for my faith.

I was hoping to explore the topic you propose in your comment. I knew little about presuppositionalism so I looked it up in the internet. The Wiki definiton is: Presuppositionalism is a school of Christian apologetics that believes the Christian faith is the only basis for rational thought

Is the comment above correct? How do you reconcile this view (worldview) with the idea of the advantages of studying scriptures especially Genesis from a discourse-oriented literary approach as advocated by C. John Collins in his textual analysis of Genesis 1-4. Where he proposes that we examine the literary features of the text to see how they convey a message with which the text calls us to cooperate- with the message intended by the author- we need to cooperate...

I'm very confident I can show a more likely conclusion here.  I don't mean it in a cruddy way.  I'm not holiness/wesleyan/finneyan/keswickian/etc....  However I do find the Christian Maturity as a very well supported Biblical position.

I'd love to discuss this with you.  I couldn't help but learn something.  And I'm quite sure I'll give arguments you haven't considered before in parts of this conversation.

I am typing with thumbs so I apologize for the direct, blunt, and short nature of the post.

GENESIS 2:9, 16, 17 _Werethe tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil real trees? Two views are often expressed: (1) _The trees were real but symbolic. Eternal life with God was symbolized by eating from the tree of life. (2) _The trees were real, possessing special properties. By eating the fruit from the tree of life, Adam and Eve could have had eternal life, enjoying a permanent relationship as God's children. In either case, Adam and Eve's sin separated them from the tree of life and thus kept them from obtaining eternal life. Interestingly, the tree of life again appears in a description in Revelation 22 of people enjoying eternal life with God.

2:15__17 _God gave Adam resposibility for the garden and told him not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Rather than physically preventing him from esting, God gave Adam a choice and, thus, the possibility of choosing wrongly. God still gives us choices today, and we, too, often choose wrongly. These wrong choices may cause us pain and irritation, but they can help us learn and grow and make better chioces in the future. Living with the consequences of our choices is one of the best ways to become more resposible.

GENESIS 2:8_14 _The Garden of Eden was a showcase of the magnificent beauty God intended for his creation. Eden was no accident. It was a place designed to be fully enjoyed.

2:9 _The name of the tree of knowledge of good and evil implies that evil had already occurred, if not in the garden, than at the time of Satan's fall.

2:2_3 _We live in an action-oriented world! Yet God demonstrated that rest is appropriate and right. If God himself rested from his work, then it should not amaze us that we need rest as well. Jesus dimonstrated this principle when he and his disciples left in a boat to get away from the crowds (See MARK 6:31__32). Our times of rest refresh us for times of service.

2:7 _"Of the dust of the ground" implies that there is nothing fancy about the chemical elements from which we are made. The body is a lifeless shell until God brings it alive with his "breath of life." When God removes his life-giving breath, our bodies once again return to dust. Therefore our life and worth come from God's Spirit. Many boast of thier achievements, only to fail soon after. Others have no achievements to boast about. But in reality, our worth comes not from our achievements but from the God of the universe, who chooses to give us the mysterious and miraculous gift of life. Valus life, as he does.

  • TEACHING OF THE BIBLE - KING JAMES VERSION - 1611   29 weeks 1 day ago

1:28 _To have dominion over something is to have absolute authority and control over it. God has ultimate dominion over the earth, and he exercises his authority with loving care. When God delegated some of his authority to the human race, he expected us to take responsibility for the environment and the other creatures that inhabit our planet. Like the creator, we should care for the earth responsibly and lovingly.

1:31 _God was pleased with all he created, for he saw that it was very good. You are part of God's creation, and he is pleased with how he made you. If at times you feel worthless or of little value, remember that God made you for a good reason. You are valuable to him.

  • THE BOOK OF GENESIS - CHAPTER # 1 - KJV-1611   29 weeks 3 days ago

1:26 _In what ways are we made in God image? God obviously did not create us exactly like himself, especially in a physical sense. Instead, we are reflections of God's glory. God is sinless, eternal, and unlimited. Although we are given the potential to be sinless and eternal, we are also given the choice to fall short. We will never be totally like God because he is our supreme creator. Our best hope is to reflect his character in our love, patience, forgiveness, kindness and faithfulness. Knowing that we are made in God's image and thus share many of his characteristics provides a solid basis for self-worth. Human worth is not defined by possessions, achievements, physical attractiveness, or public acclaim. Instead it comes from being made in God's image. Because we are like God we can feel positive about ourselves. Knowing that you are a person of infinite worth gives you the freedom to love God, know him personally, and make a valuable contribution to those around you.

1:27 _God made both man and woman in his image. Neither man or woman is made more in the image of God than the other. From the beginning the Bible places both man and woman at the pinnacle of creation. Neither sex is exalted, and neither is depreciated.

  • THE BOOK OF GENESIS - CHAPTER # 1 - KJV-1611   29 weeks 3 days ago

1:25 _God saw that his work was good, and he was pleased. People sometimes feel guilty for having a good time or for feeling good about an accomplishment. This need not to be so. Just as God was pleased with his work,we can be pleased with ours. However, we cannot be pleased with our work if God would not be pleased with it. What are you doing that pleases both you and God??

1:26 _Why does God use the plural form "Let us make man in our image"? One view says this is a reference to the Trinity__God the Fater, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Another view is that the plural wording is used to denote majiesty. Kings traditionally use the plural form in speaking of themselves.

  • THE BOOK OF GENESIS - CHAPTER # 1 - KJV-1611   29 weeks 6 days ago

GENESIS 1:2 _Who created God? To ask that question, we have to assume there was another creator before God. At some time, however, we are forced to stop asking that question and realize that there had to be something which has always existed. God is the infinite Being who has always been and who was created by no one. This is difficult to understand because finite minds cannot comprehened the infinite. Foe example, what is the highest number? Likewise, we must stop thinking of the infinite God in finite terms.

1:2 _The image of the Spirit of God moving over the waters   is similar to a bird caring for and protecting its young (See DETURONOMY 32:11, 12; ISAIAH 31:5). God's Spirit was actively involved in the creation of the world (See JOB 33:4; PSALM 104:30).

GENESIS 1:1 _The creation story teaches us much about God and ourselves. First, we learn about God:  (1) _He is creative; (2) _as the Creator he is distinct from his creation; (3) _he is eternal and in control of the world. Second, we learn about ourselves: (1) _Since God chose to create us, we are valuable in his eyes; (2) _we are given a place above the animals.

1:1 _Did God create the world? if so, just how did he do it? This is still a subject of great debate. Some say there was a sudden explosion and the universe appeared. Others say God got it all started, and the rest evolved over billions of years. Almost every ancient religion has its own story to explain how the world came to be. And almost every scientist has an opinion on the origin of the universe. But only the Bible shows the supreme God creating the earth out of his great love and giving all people a special place in it. We will never know all the answers to how God created the world, but the Bible tells us that God did create it. That fact alone gives worth and dignity to all people.
