Crossing the lines

In math, one thing I remember learning was that parallel lines never meet or cross. But what about the faith-testing words: all things are possible to those who believe? Or with man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible?
Puzzles, riddles, questions... They're the stuff of life that we stumble on or over and seek to answer during this brief journey called life. The beginning. The end. The Alpha. The Omega. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. How did HE do it?
By crossing the lines - in ways thought impossible - Jesus shattered the understanding of unbending rules and those "impossible" circumstances. Power, fame, position, security, identity and the meaning of life itself were turned upside down, all through him. Man''s "conventional wisdom" came apart in ways that we, in hindsight, think we understand. But do we really? Often, don't we still struggle with questions?
How did Jesus bridge the gulf between a pure, holy and just God and a hopeless, confused, wretched "sinful" man? At :the cross, those two "lines" that could never meet intersected. At the empty tomb, death died with his resurrection. At the well, thirst was quenched with his "living water." The darkness that enveloped man fled when God's unapproachable light wrapped itself around Jesus, THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.
Let a bit of that light from Jesus shine in your world today.
