Why do Today what You Can Put Off Till Tomorrow?

The very opposite of a life seeking “vision” from God is a life tangled in “procrastination!”

Our life needs to be disciplined; in other words, doing what you know you should do.

Why? Due to our...

Vision – The Ability To See Through God’s Eyes!

What is Vision? Does it matter how we see things? The answer is, YES! Many only see the obstacles. I do not believe in “positive thinking"...but I am convinced God wants to be optimistic about the life He desires to lead us to.

An optimist is the sort of man who would go after Moby Dick with...

God, Honesty, and Truth

Christ said that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. If Christ is Truth, then it follows that lying is moving away from Christ. Being honest is about following in God's footsteps, for He cannot lie. If the Christian teen's goal is to become more God-like and God-centered, then honesty needs to be a focus.

Easter According to Jesus - “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Which is more painful: the body broken or the spirit broken?

Context:

* His brothers did not believe him and had forsaken him - but His Father was still there.

* Nation had forsaken him and turned him over to the Gentiles - but His Father was still there.

* Judas Betrayed - but His Father was still there.

* Peter Denied - but His Father was still there.

* All had forsaken Him - but His Father was still there.

It’s now...

Easter According to Jesus: “Woman behold your Son”

Context: All of His men had forsaken Him. Now He was on the cross. He felt pain from old wounds & from fresh ones. Jesus can hear mocking and nasty statements. Two common criminals gnash their teeth at Him; after a while one of them has his heart changed and tells his friend to be quiet. He begins his relationship with his Maker at the end of his life…late…BUT not too late! There are women at the cross - followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. Also one of His disciples stopped running and turned around and was now at the cross. It was John, who referred to himself in his gospel as the "disciple whom the Lord loved."

It is in this light that we hear our Lord utter His third statement from the cross.

John 19:26–27  When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour the disciple took her into his own household.

The Lord's compassion and sense of stewardship is...

Easter According to Jesus: “Today you will be with me”

I use to love to sit and talk with my kids by the fireplace - Priscilla sat with me next to fire - We talked about fire – she said “Daddy – if I jumped in the fire I would die wouldn’t I” – I said “yes” – She said – “My Hands and My head…But my toes would live!” Life is not that simple! Death is all encompassing! Our Lord accepted it all!

Consider, He was the Creator of the world! Yet, because of human sin, He now finds Himself 33 years old and being put to death as a sacrifice for the humans He created.

* During His short 33 year life on this planet He was – hunted; praised; insulted; worshipped; called God; called Satan.

* He has amazed the people with His miracles - Angered many with His words - Touched most with His love!

* Now He is alone.

Besides the great physical pain He has from all the beatings and being crucified; He must deal with...
