All Bloggers Please Read: So You Want to Blog

So You Want to Blog ….on Users.bible.org???

Blogging has become a tool for our fast paced society and the global world in which we live. People have been blogging since paper and then pencils were invented. The only change is that now we have moved from paper/pencil and have introduced automated publishing systems. We now can use technology to order our sharing which can be updated daily with news, interesting items and keep our audience coming back to hear what we have to say. In the last 11 yrs since one website began publishing blogs they note: “blogs have reshaped the web, impacted politics, shaken up journalism, and enabled millions of people to have a voice and connect with others.”[1]

A response dated 5/15/2012

There are some things I read that register immediately in my spirit; this response is toward one of them. The Holy Spirit seems to flood over me at times like this, not only in recognition of a kindred spirit, but of the power and majesty of the Holy God.

I will be honest with you. With out knowing what you had to say I almost dreaded seeing any replies. Most who have made contacts with me on earlier posts no longer do so. One fellow went on a strange attack.

The operation was a success, but the patient died!

Scripture Read: Judges 2:6-10 When Joshua had dismissed the people, the sons of Israel went each to his inheritanceto possess the land. The people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who survived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of the Lord which He had done for Israel. Then Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of one hundred and ten. And they buried him in the territory of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash. All that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord, nor yet the work which He had done for Israel.

Application: We now pivot back in time to the death of Joshua. Why? I believe...

It’s Not Always What Is Done, What Is NOT Done Can Be The Problem

Scripture Read: Judges 1:1 Now it came about after the death of Joshua that the sons of Israel inquired of the LORD, saying, "Who shall go up first for us against the Canaanites, to fight against them?"

Application: Judges 1 begins after the death of Joshua. What is very important about this chapter is what...

Defying Lust and Pursuing Love

What is lust? The Bible mentions it several times. 2 Timothy 2:22 explains what us, as youth, are to pursue in order to stay away from lust. "So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart."

How Ready are you to Bury a Loved One?

Gen 23 is the story of the death and burial of Sarah. It is interesting that few commentators have dealt with this chapter and yet if one mines the truths herein there is a wealth of information that is not only intriguing but also worthwhile.

Being your own Boss can destroy the end product

Scripture Read: Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

Application: As we begin to spend some time in Judges we do need to set some context. This verse will be the sad truth that is repeated over and over again. The reality it communicates must be a part of our conscious thought every day. When we choose to walk in our own strength...

Letting Our Children Follow God

Fathers, donotprovokeyourchildrento anger, butraisethemupinthe disciplineandinstructionof the Lord.(Ephesians 6:4 NET)

One of the hardest things for a parent is raising a child in the way of the Lord and not our own. We seem to forget that they are loaned to us as a blessing. They are not ours. Our children belong to Him.

It’s so easy to provoke our children. After all, when they are in the wrong we are to not worry about this right? This is why the Ten Commandments grew to hundreds of laws. We have to find a loophole to justify our sinful actions.
