All Bloggers Please Read: So You Want to Blog

So You Want to Blog ….on Users.bible.org???

Blogging has become a tool for our fast paced society and the global world in which we live. People have been blogging since paper and then pencils were invented. The only change is that now we have moved from paper/pencil and have introduced automated publishing systems. We now can use technology to order our sharing which can be updated daily with news, interesting items and keep our audience coming back to hear what we have to say. In the last 11 yrs since one website began publishing blogs they note: “blogs have reshaped the web, impacted politics, shaken up journalism, and enabled millions of people to have a voice and connect with others.”[1]

Enough Power to Fail!

Understanding power and it’s source is important! When I was a young man, I did not understand how engines worked. When I came into shop class, my friends called me over and asked me to hold a wire while they pulled a rope. Dummy that I was, I did it. When they pulled that rope, it sent a rather awaking charge through that wire…

The Mouth that roared. Revelation 13:5-7

Revelation 13:5 KJV And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Since we last spoke

The mens' group at the church I attend had at least one man attend the “Band of Brothers” boot camp. He in turn began to get others excited about it. Many of us have decided that they wanted more and we have chosen to stop playing church and be the church God called us to be. More, seems to have come through the author John Eldredge.

God's looking through Him to you!

Being that we have pondered the question concerning what a godly person looks like, viewing through the godly woman of Proverbs 31, we naturally must ask the question; why do we fail to live godly and what do we do about it when we fail?  We will discuss in more detail about “why” later; at this time suffice it to say we fail because we are still living with a fallen nature, though now we have a new nature, we will continue to wrestle with the flesh.

Having said that – let’s look at what do we do when we fail to “live” godly. The major difficulty is...

Feminism...From God’s point of view…Part 2 - Trapped or Trusted?

When I was 17, having just finished high school in Hawaii, I told my mom that I was going to move out and live in the D.C. area. My mom agreed. On the afternoon before my evening flight, I sat with my mom. She could see I was disturbed. She asked me what was wrong. I told her that I was bothered, when my two older brothers wanted to move out, they were both 20 at the time and were only moving 15-20 miles away, she argued with them. Here I am 17, moving over 4,800 miles away…and she helped me pack! She laughed and looked me straight in the eye, smiling and said, “Nathan, of my four boys you are the one I have never worried about, I know you could always talk yourself into a meal!”

The qualities that a godly woman has can challenge men so much, if...

Feminism...From God’s point of view.

Proverbs 31 - When I was a Senior in Bible College my mother went home to be with Lord. She had trusted Christ with me 3 months earlier. She was 49. I was asked by my dad to do the funeral, this was the first funeral I had done. That was 33 years ago, yet I still find that the impact my mother had on me continues. She did not become a believer until late in life, but due to the era she grew up in, she held many Biblical views that she brought me up with. As Mother’s day approaches let’s consider what characteristics a godly mother has...

Wind and Fire

Eagerly anticipating the National Day of Prayer, I awakened to a fan of hot, dry air pouring through my bedroom window. Stretching my memory far back, I searched for another wind so powerfully gusty. The thermometer soon reached 95 degrees.

An Investment Worth It and a Foundation that Guarantees Success

Probing Proverbs 9:9-10 Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more.   Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.

Wisdom warns us previously that it is a waste of time to continue to help those that refuse the help. Now Wisdom gives us the encouraging Truth about those that are worth investing in. Remember...

The Evil from God?

Scripture Read: Judges 9:22-25 Now Abimelech ruled over Israel three years. Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech, so that the violence done to the seventy sons of Jerubbaal might come, and their blood might be laid on Abimelech their brother, who killed them, and on the men of Shechem, who strengthened his hands to kill his brothers. The men of Shechem set men in ambush against him on the tops of the mountains, and they robbed all who might pass by them along the road; and it was told to Abimelech.

Application: What appears to cause so much confusion among Bible novices is really a...

57/108 Days

My loved ones, we have been adopted into God’s family; and we are officially His children now. The full picture of our destiny is not yet clear, but we know this much: when Jesus appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him just as He is.

Being callous or being wise...how do you tell the difference?

Probing Proverbs 9:7-8 Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get an insult in return. Anyone who corrects the wicked will get hurt. So don’t bother correcting mockers; they will only hate you. But correct the wise, and they will love you.

This passage guides us into the better use of our time. When a person enters into a relationship with Jesus Christ, slowly but surely...
